Job Purpose: Our Food Packaging Equipment Specialist will be responsible for supporting growth and retainment of direct food contact packaging material sales. They provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for specialized packaging machinery, ensuring reliable material performance, focusing on diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and software issues. This role works closely with material specialists and customers to optimize equipment integration with packaging solutions, driving efficiency and customer loyalty. Job Responsibilities: * Service food packaging equipment that corresponds to food packaging material sales. This includes Preventive Maintenance, machine rebuilds, and troubleshooting. * Attend fitness for use trials and customer ramp ups, making machine adjustments as needed. * Attend customer sales calls as needed to discuss their service pain points and our expertise. * Audit equipment performance for existing customers and make recommendations for reduction of downtime, leaker rates, or inefficiencies. * Regularly update Corporate Account teams to review and maintain equipment service schedules nationally. * Collaborate with material specialists, material suppliers, and equipment OEMs as needed. * Provide timely and clear communication to the customer on what services and replacement parts are deemed necessary, as well as timing for work to be completed. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience servicing direct food contact packaging equipment in one or more of the following types: thermoforming, hot-fill vertical form fill seal, or rotary vacuum chamber. * Proven ability to lead audits and provide feedback. * Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP plans, and PPE usage in food manufacturing environments. * Experience working with production management, maintenance teams, and QA professionals within the food industry. * Strong knowledge of automated systems as well as electrical and mechanical schematics. * Understand PLC/control systems. * Diagnose and resolve technical issues to ensure reliability and optimal performance. * Up to 70% travel required. Work Experience: * 5-10 years of related job experience. * Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Ability to work quickly and efficiently. * Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. * Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven. * Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. * Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful). * Strong planning and organization skills are required. * Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required. * The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
