Job Details

The Construction Crew Lead is responsible for leading and mentoring teams of beginner-to-intermediate laborers on job sites, developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople. This role ensures projects are executed with quality, safety, and efficiency by assigning tasks, providing on-the-job guidance, and working hands-on alongside the crew. Serving as the main link between field staff and the Project Manager, the Supervisor ensures client expectations and company standards are consistently met.

This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson with leadership experience who enjoys teaching, leading by example, and driving results through teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise and lead a crew of 3-6 laborers of beginner to intermediate skill levels, assigning daily tasks and monitoring productivity.
• Provide hands-on training, guidance, and mentorship to improve team members’ skills across trades (painting, drywall, fixture installation, basic carpentry, flooring, basic plumbing preferred).
• Assign daily tasks based on individual skills and project priorities
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
• Foster a collaborative, safety-first work environment
• Resolve interpersonal conflicts and maintain team morale

• Enforce company safety standards and conduct Toolbox Talks as needed.
• Communicate project updates, challenges, and material needs directly to the Project Manager.

Work Quality & Productivity

• Ensure all work meets AGL’s quality standards and client specifications.
• Track and report job progress, materials usage, and labor hours.
• Manage material usage and coordinate deliveries with office staff
• Identify and resolve issues on-site, escalating to the Project Manager when necessary.
• Maintain tools in good working order and encourage proper tool care among the team.

Collaboration

• Coordinate with subcontractors, field supervisors, and project managers to keep projects on schedule.
• Represent AGL professionally when interacting with clients or site visitors.

Client Relations

• Maintain professional interactions with clients during site visits
• Address client questions and concerns within scope of authority
• Protect client property and maintain clean, organized work areas
• Communicate any client requests or concerns to Project Manager
