MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Performs a variety of inspection duties for component specifications, assemblies and/or finished goods. Uses measuring devices and testing devices according to established engineering instructions or quality practice standards. Uses manufacturing and quality assurance specifications to determine acceptance and/or performance. Works with Q.A. Engineer in the development and implementation of test plans based upon functional and technical specifications.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows all Good Manufacturing Practices and SOP’s as defined by Viant’s policies, practices and procedures to insure that FDA regulations, GMP, ISO13485, and Viant quality standards are met
- Promotes a safe and healthy work environment
- Inspect finished goods, subassemblies, solvent and lot combinations
- Ability to interpret component specifications, drawings and quality procedures
- Good documentation of acceptable/non-conforming items according to established procedures
- Perform in-process, pre-sterile and post sterile inspections
- Perform necessary ERP transactions to move acceptable/non-conforming Components/FG
- Monitor various manufacturing/quality processes to assure component/product control, SOP and GMP’s
- Perform data collection; interpret and analyze information to provide recommendations for improvement
- Able to perform reclassification inspections and transactions
- Work within a multi-functional team and demonstrate a service attitude throughout the organization
- Ability to train others
- Records coordinator duties as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education:
Job Experience:
- 6 months work experience in a manufacturing preferred
- 6 months Viant product related experience preferred
Skills/Competencies:
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Measuring and testing devices including calipers, microscopes, calibrated eye pieces
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions including specification drawings
- Computer skills
- Good writing and verbal skills
- Data collection and charting
- Problem solving skills
- Must be able to rotate between functions, tasks and departments as business needs require
Physical Requirements:
- Bend/Stoop/Kneel - multiple times throughout the day
- Lift/Carry 10-25 lb – multiple times throughout the day
- Stand/Sit/Walk – up to 6 hours per day
