Paralegal II - The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
This role is Hybrid, with training occurring in office. Once training is complete, the role will move to 3 days Work From Home, 2 days in office. Schedule and Hybrid status subject to change based on business need.
Under direction and guidance of the organization's attorneys, performs a variety of intermediate to complex law-related tasks in support of legal matters. Conducts legal research, investigate issues and drafts/prepare legal documents to support attorneys and contract administrators. Supports all aspects of document discovery, including e-discovery, document management, the litigation hold process, and document production. Assists counsel with the coordination of responses to subpoenas, demand letters, legal correspondence, and discovery demands, etc. Manages daily activities of litigation support vendors and outside counsel. Calendars dates and monitors litigation activity and deadlines. Coordinates the scheduling of witness interviews, deposition preparation, and depositions.
Maintains comprehensive litigation and pre-litigation case files and trackers and prepares monthly/quarterly status reports. Supports and provides direction in the internal investigation of compliance issues. Manages various compliance filings with regulatory agencies. Identifies risk, utilizes analytics and best practices to minimize exposure to the company.
Collaborates with OGC support staff to design and deliver workflow in a shared services environment with a seamless customer support experience. Provides backup coverage for OGC support staff on an as needed basis. Supports Legal Tracker, service of process and CT Assurance administration on an as needed basis. Designs and implements practical processes for the OGC Team to identify, evaluate and implement process efficiency improvements. Inputs and reviews data in spreadsheets, databases, or other departmental systems in order to update content and generate various reports. Generates and manages legal templates, prepares correspondence, assists in the creation of presentations. Interacts directly with business line customers to address support needs. Handle special assignments when assigned.
Intermediate level position in which incumbent demonstrated in-depth research and analytical skills, as well as an understanding of case management techniques. Develops strong understand of the department's key focuses and corporate disciplines. Analyzes issues and existing solutions to create innovative approaches to solve issues. Escalates more complex items to senior staff. Assists lower-level staff when necessary.

We're looking for candidates who:
Required Qualifications:
Education:
Associates degree as a paralegal and three years of experience in a position performing paralegal functions
OR
Completion of an ABA approved Paralegal training program and three years of experience in a position performing paralegal functions
OR
Five years of experience in a position performing paralegal functions
AND
Ability to obtain and maintain ABA approved Paralegal certification, or equivalent within timeline designated by management
Experience:
Operating as a Paralegal or in a position performing paralegal functions
Researching and analyzing legal matters, case law and regulations
Preparing written legal documents, memoranda, pleadings and correspondence
Operating Microsoft suites and legal case management systems
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of:
Principles, methods and resources involved in conducting legal research
Civil litigation procedure
Federal and state judicial systems
Ability to:
Evaluate situations, facts and issues and draw accurate conclusions
Organize, plan and prioritize work
Research legal files and compile data
Competently operate a windows based PC and relevant software
Communicate effectively with others in a work environment and with the public
Research, analyze and prepare written documents, correspondence, memoranda and pleadings
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Pre-Law or a related field
Knowledge of:
Regulatory matters, including filing reports with regulatory agencies principles
Company procedures and departmental functions
Two or more:
Insurance, contract and corporate law
Real property transactions
Trademark law
Insurance products and services
Banking and financial institutions law
