Job Description – Hospital Housekeeper (EVS)
Shifts & Pay:

1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Starting Pay: $12.48/hr
-
Conversion: After 580 hours or successful completion period, candidate will convert to union pay with a raise to $17.00/hr plus benefits.
Position Overview:
We are seeking dedicated Environmental Services (EVS) Housekeepers to join our team in Detroit. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary hospital environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities:

Clean and disinfect patient rooms, discharge rooms, operating rooms, and common areas.

Follow established 10-step cleaning procedures.

Replenish supplies and remove trash.

Perform spot cleaning of carpets and upholstery.

Clean spills promptly and operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums.

Dust and mop floors, stairs, and landings.

Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste appropriately.

Maintain compliance with hospital dress code and grooming standards.
Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred.

Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or EVS/procedural cleaning experience required.

TB test within the last year.

Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (or in process).

Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Strong organizational and communication skills.
-
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally with assistance.
