Reports To: Shift Manager
Status: Full-time/ Hourly (40 hrs./week; additional hours as needed to support company and individual goals)
Job Summary
Ensuring production, labor, quality, and efficiency meet the desired target, troubleshoot processing problems during production, reduce scrap, and provide continual improvement of injection processes within the plant. Assist in developing master setup processes for manufacturing.
Essential Job Functions
- Operate injection molding machines, end-of-arm tooling, auxiliary equipment, and adhere to lock-out/tag-out procedures and policies.
- Complete changeover of molds, end-of-arm tooling, startup/shutdown of the injection molding process and related automation, and obtain first and last piece inspection.
- Operate industrial trucks, overhead cranes, mobile cranes, aerial platforms, and bolster carts according to safety standards.
- Maintain job-specific instructions for processes, master set-ups, and develop the best practices for manufacturing using 5-S and Lean techniques.
- Participate in 5S, Lean manufacturing, keep work areas clean and orderly, and identify opportunities for improvement of cycle time, scrap reduction, and efficiency.
- Diagnose symptoms of machine process problems (production of out-of-specification parts), determine root cause, and apply corrective actions.
- Document all changes required, report problems, and provide engineering change requests and corrective actions to the Supervisor and Process Engineer.
- Continually standardize and improve manufacturing processes and sustain and support current processes.
- Organize, lead, and direct Operators to minimize setup time and maximize run time and throughput.
- Communicate directly with adjacent shift personnel and orchestrate shift handoff.
- Oversee training of new employees with the New Operator Training Log.
- Complete all production paperwork and forms pertaining to the machines, such as master set-up sheets, mold tag systems, and product order and maintenance forms etc.
- Material handling as needed or instructed.
- Perform all duties of an operator when not performing the above duties.
- Maintain a positive attitude.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to the safety policies.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years of injection molding experience
- Powered Industrial Truck License
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
- Leadership experience
- Problem-solving skills

- Computer Skills (AS 400 and Microsoft Office)
- 3-5 years of injection molding processing experience
- FANUC Robotics Experience
- Kaizen/Lean Manufacturing experience
