SALES TEAM - MATERIAL ESTIMATOR
The Position of Material Estimator will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:
- Has a solid understanding of residential and commercial building materials
- Puts together accurate estimates in a timely manner for customers as requested
- Maintains good communication on product lead times and relationships with customers
- Maintains good relationships with vendors and sales reps, staying informed of new product offerings and their applications
- Responsible for creating accurate PO’s, orders or special orders for items they’re ordering
- Works with the Inventory Manager to receive all their PO’s, orders, and special orders
- Notify customers when their orders or special orders have arrived
- Responsible for maintaining their open orders ensuring items are invoiced or delivered within 3 months of receiving
- Helps other estimators or kitchen and bath designers with their ordering or estimating as needed
- Assists Inventory Manger to conduct inventory counts as needed
- Maintain a friendly and helpful manner at all times
- Handle customer complaints in a positive and constructive manner
- Answers phones and assists others as needed
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of building materials, their application, and how to accurately estimate them
- Previous experience working with building materials and supplies preferred
- You are positive, enjoy helping others, and make customers feel valued
- Someone detail-minded and organized---accuracy is second nature to you
- You take customer complaints as an opportunity to improve
- Good communication skills
- The ability to multitask
- Excellent customer service and people skills
- You are comfortable with computers and learning new software
