Job Title: Industrial Controls Technician MT-2/3

Job Summary:
The Industrial Controls Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing control systems and electrical components used in industrial manufacturing and processing equipment. This role ensures optimal operation of automated systems including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), and SCADA systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical control systems, including motors, relays, switches, sensors, and wiring.
- Maintain and calibrate instrumentation and control systems to meet production and safety standards.
- Assist in the design and modification of control systems to improve process efficiency and reliability.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and system testing.
- Work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve automation issues.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical and safety codes.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all control systems and modifications.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or electrical maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI design, and industrial networking.
- Familiarity with VFDs, instrumentation, and process control equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Work Environment:
This position requires working in an industrial setting which may involve standing, climbing, and exposure to noise, dust, and various machine operations.
