Job Description:
- Provide engineering support for processes and equipment at solder paste printing, SMT, Reflow Soldering, AOI, X-Ray inspection, wave soldering, hand soldering, through-hole insertion, conformal coating and other assembly operations;
- Implement and oversee adherence to IPC standards and statistical techniques;
- Analyze and improve quality and process control in manufacturing business activities;
- Utilize problem solving tools and active follow up;
- Employ analytical tools and approaches such as 8D Problem Solving methodology, flow charts, continuous improvement plans, training, development and implementation of procedures, failure analysis, DFM, Cycle Time / Setup Time reduction.
- Collect, report and chart manufacturing data, including on-time delivery metrics and manufacturing KPI management.
- Improve manufacturing yields, reducing scrap and RMA assemblies.
- Engage in production planning and control with daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly planning / management of production to match the revenue targets and profitability goals.
- Perform other duties as needed to support the customers, manufacturing processes and quality systems companywide.
- Travel: 10% travel to Cumberland, Wisconsin required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Five years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or SMT Process Engineer
- Experience must include:
- Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Programming and operation of all SMT (Surface mount technology) equipment including solder paste printers, pick and place machines to place components and inspect using SPI, AOI, X-Ray equipment, Wave Soldering, and Conformal Coating.
- Developing, maintaining and validation of thermal profiles for SMT reflow ovens for existing and new products.
- Process parameters setup and analysis of SMT processes to ensure process capability and throughput.
- Continuous improvements and root cause analysis.
- Managing the manufacturing assembly lines and supervising the operator training.
