Transportation Representative

Job Type: Full time, 30-40 hours per week with a scheduled start time of 7:30am
Salary: $15.00 hourly
Supervisor: Manager of Transportation Services
Location: Lowell Center
Position Summary
Driving to improve the quality of life and access to important resources for older adults throughout our community and Kent County.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. *Other duties as assigned.
- Provide transportation to nutrition sites, shopping, medical services, social services, etc. as needed and as scheduled through the RideLink dispatch system, and work with RideLink in cooperation with the Centers for special trips.
- Maintain daily records of all program services as directed.
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections, follow the established maintenance schedule.
- Provide ambulatory assistance and provide other transportation related assistance as needed.
- Maintain the vehicle's general maintenance, cleanliness, and safety and immediately report any observed maintenance and/or safety deficiencies to the Transportation Manager.
- Participate in trainings and meetings as directed.
Qualifications
Education / Experience
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Chauffeur License required.

Special Licensing
Expected Hours of Work
- Standard office hours are M-F 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Must be able to drive a vehicle for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able and willing to assist persons requiring help in and out of vehicles.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must have a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and access to private transportation that meets state insurance requirements and vehicle safety standards to use on agency business.
