Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.\n\n· Helps all students:\n\no Plan for postsecondary options (enroll in education, enlist in military option, employ in work force)\n\no Apply academic achievement strategies\n\no Manage emotions and apply interpersonal skill\n\n· Focuses students and families on college and career readiness;\n\n· Meets quarterly with all students on caseload to review graduation plan and post-secondary options;\n\n· Delivers classroom instruction based on student success standards;\n\n· Reviews transcripts and other academic documentation for new and returning students;\n\n· Works collaboratively with teaching staff to develop a four (4) year graduation plan and audits student schedules for candidacy for graduation as determined by school and state policies;\n\n· Assist students in course placement including recommendations on Advanced Placement (AP) and pathways to challenge and enrich student learning opportunities;\n\n· Analyzes student data and develops data-driven programs for intervention action plans;\n\n· Provides short-term counseling to students and referrals for long-term support, as necessary;\n\n· Provides a support system that strengthens the efforts of teachers, staff, and parents;\n\n· Supports standardized testing program; parent education; and staff development;\n\n· May advocate for students at individual education plan meetings and other student-focused meetings;\n\n· Focuses students and families on goal setting and academic planning for college and career readiness;\n\n· Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.\n\nMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n· Bachelor's degree AND\n\n· Three (3) years of experience in counseling and/or advisement\n\n· School Counselor License\n\n· Ability to clear required background check\n\nOTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Web-based search engines, and database systems\n\n· Flexible schedule; Ability to travel as needed\n\n· Master's degree in school counseling\n\n· Experience with distance learning\n\n· Advanced coursework in counseling and administration\n\nDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\n· Experience as a teacher\n\n· Experience in a customer service environment.\n\n· Experience with Local, State, and Federals laws and mandated reporting\n\n· Experience in a charter school environment preferred\n\n· Experience with state career planning systems, Pathfinder, or other career planning platforms/tools\n\nCompensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person's education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position's work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee's salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position's level and expected contribution, and the employee's benefits elections.
