Assistant Professor - Clinical, Physician Assistant Studies

Essential functions (job duties):
The Assistant Professor (Clinical) will:
Support the Clinical Medicine I, II, and III courses through instructional and academic activities, as assigned.
Contribute to additional teaching or academic responsibilities within the Program, Department, or College, as assigned by the Program Director.
Provide academic support and advising to students.
Participate in admissions processes, including applicant interviews and file review, as appropriate.
Serve on Program, Department, or College committees as assigned.
Participate in community service initiatives as assigned.
Attend and contribute to regular Program, Department, and College meetings.
Demonstrate a willingness to engage in scholarly activity as appropriate to the role and appointment.
Unique duties:
The Assistant Professor (Clinical) will: Collaborate with Clinical Medicine course faculty and staff as part of a small instructional team, under the direction of the Program Director. Engage with alumni, guest lecturers, and community partners to enhance course content and clinical relevance.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program or related accredited healthcare program. Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or equivalent based on professional experience.
Current NCCPA certification (if a PA) and Michigan licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
Minimum 3 years of full-time clinical experience as a Physician Assistant or comparable healthcare clinician.
Prior experience in higher education, including teaching, course coordination, or clinical precepting.
Strong interpersonal and team-based communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative academic environment.
Preferred qualifications:
5+ years of clinical practice experience. 3+ years of experience teaching or coordinating curriculum in higher education. Evidence of leadership contributions and/or scholarly productivity.
