Sr. Packaging Engineer
Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is looking for an Engineer to join the Packaging Team of theStructures Engineering Design Team/Department.In this role, one would lead vehicle system-level and component-level packaging efforts, guiding them from initial concept to production, and work closely with subsystem engineers to ensure packaging feasibility within the primary zones of the vehicle architecture.
What You Will Do:
Identify interference conditions and feasibility challenges, and develop solutions to address them
Leverage kinematic models to generate clearance envelopes for accurate spatial planning
Manage packaging issues by creating, assigning, and tracking them, while coordinating regular packaging review meetings with key stakeholders until achieving resolution
Perform benchmarking analysis and maintain a database of dimensional benchmarks
Assist in the development of general layout drawings and master sections
Analyze surfaces, working closely with designers to ensure production feasibility and alignment with vehicle systems
Collaborate across functional teams, including manufacturing, to ensure the feasibility of assembly processes
What You Will Bring to the Role:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program
3+ years of vehicle packaging experience
Expertise in CATIA /Creo with demonstrated skills
Excellent communication skills and abilityto operate effectivelyindependently and across functions in a global team environment
