Our phlebotomists draw and prepare blood for medical testing, transfusions or donations. Our team is trained to collect blood via venipuncture, capillary punctures, and Vascular Access Devices (VADs). We have the ability to be stationed in hospitals, clinics, outpatient care facilities, diagnostic laboratories and blood donation centers. This posting covers our openings across the various hospitals and medical care centers across Ann Arbor. These include Adult Inpatient areas, Ambulatory Outpatient areas, and the Children and Women?s Hospital.
- High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Considerable experience in phlebotomy, including but not limited to work with pediatric patients.
- Phlebotomy Certification or equivalent coursework.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment.
- Proficient in basic computer functions.
- Operating hours depend on specific-unit needs with dayshift, evening shift, and midnight shifts available, most of which require rotating weekends.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
