Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee financial operations within the healthcare and social assistance industry. Responsibilities:
Manage and lead a team of five accounting professionals, ensuring efficient workflow and collaboration.
Oversee the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries and reconciling accounts.
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports to support organizational decision-making.
Develop and monitor the annual budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
Conduct detailed financial statement audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Maintain and manage the general ledger to ensure the integrity of financial data.
Provide expertise in non-profit accounting to meet the unique requirements of the organization.
Collaborate with leadership to implement effective financial strategies and solutions.
Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to enhance efficiency.
Ensure adherence to all regulatory and reporting requirements. Requirements - Proven experience in managing month-end close processes and account reconciliations.
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.
Expertise in conducting financial statement audits.
Familiarity with non-profit accounting principles and practices.
Demonstrated ability to develop and oversee annual budgets.
Leadership experience, including managing and mentoring a team.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in financial reporting and compliance standards.
