This position oversees security officers assigned to work at various construction yards for our state's critical energy infrastructure.

CURRENT OPENING:
- Full-Time: Core Hours will be Mon-Fri 2nd or 3rd shift, start times may vary.
- On-Call: Supervisors are obligated to respond to incidents on sites 24/7. This includes finding someone to cover any missed shifts or covering the shift themselves.
LOCATION: Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and surrounding areas
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As an unarmed Security Officer at DK Security, your duties are determined by the client location. Some responsibilities may include:
- Access Control - Ensure only authorized individuals are given access to the site. This could be based on appointments, ID cards, etc.
- Patrolling - Walk the interior and/or exterior of the various buildings on the site, keeping an eye out for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
- Camera Monitoring - Monitor CCTV for safety and security concerns across the site.
- Customer Service - Always enforce rules and policies through de-escalation techniques and ensuring quality customer service in every interaction.
- Site Supervision - Oversee and coach other members of the DK Security team at the various sites, including scheduling, submitting timesheets for payroll, team-building, communication with the corporate scheduler and operations manager, initial disciplinary action, and on-site training.

- Following Company and Client Policies - Be able to read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures as outlined and ensure all tasks are completed throughout the shift.
- Use of De-escalation Techniques - Being able to defuse situations through verbal judo and other communication tactics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
- Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to read and write in the English language and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures, maintenance instructions and reports.
- Intermediate computer skills required – Comfortable with Microsoft Office, Email, Internet, and able to learn new software.
- Must be willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
- Must have your own reliable vehicle to travel to and from various job sites between Detroit and Ann Arbor. Mileage reimbursement is available.
- Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record. (Required for driving sites)

- Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
- No other major violations in the last 3 years.

- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
