POSITION: SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL at Grayling Middle School
DESCRIPTION: Full-time paraprofessional position, working with special needs children within the
Middle School setting.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must have at least a high school diploma. Must be able to communicate at
a high level both orally and in writing. Must possess impeccable grammar.
Paraprofessional will be required to, and applicant must be willing to, assist with
toileting when necessary. Must interact successfully with students and staff, have
self-initiative, and demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision. Must
be flexible and organized, and be team oriented with a willingness to collaborate and
communicate with school staff and special education specialists. Must be patient,
calm, consistent and possess an easy-going demeanor. Must be a quick thinker with
the ability to problem-solve on short notice. Must be physically able to use physical
management when required. Must be physically able to run, climb and move quickly.
Must be willing to engage in any necessary duties as requested by the building
principal. Must be willing to continue to obtain further training and professional
development as it applies to this position. Applicants with 60, or more, college
credits are desired.
WORK YEAR: “Student days” plus holidays and vacation days, 7 hours per day.
SALARY: According to the terms of the Master Agreement
