We are seeking a Senior Payroll Accountant responsible for ensuring compliance with agency policies, governmental accounting standards, wage and hour, and tax laws related to the day-to-day operations of the payroll function.
This position is full-time, exempt, from Monday through Friday, during office business hours. A flexible hybrid working arrangement is available for this position. The employee may perform work from a home office or work site during regular business hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related business field.
- At least four years of payroll experience, preferably in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and labor laws.
- Experience with complex payroll systems and timekeeping integrations (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Kronos, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with behavioral health operations and staffing models.
- Experience working with unionized environments or collective bargaining agreements.
- Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued.
