Job Title: Senior Project Engineer - Automation
Job Description
This senior -level project engineering role involves managing large-scale projects for major customers, specifically focusing on automation systems. The projects range in value from $5 to $90 million and require a strong background in automation systems due to the complexity and customer-driven changes during the engineering and build processes.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact between engineering, manufacturing, and customers, representing the company and communicating customer needs to cross-functional teams.
Manage project budgets, schedules, timelines, and deliverables while ensuring adherence to customer specifications and objectives.
Ensure technical quality and commercial success of assigned projects, meeting and exceeding set project margins.
Monitor and reconcile actual project estimates, adhering to project budgets and reporting issues to executive management.
Communicate effectively with various divisions within the company to ensure task understanding.
Address customer concerns, regularly report project progress, manage open issues, and handle supplier and subcontractor relations.
Participate in all meetings related to project execution and progress, managing design, manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes.
Deliver as-built drawings, manuals, and documentation to customers while managing change orders and updating project budgets.
Lead project review meetings, identify and manage project risks, and provide presentations to stakeholders on project status and lessons learned.
Responsible for collecting all payments from customers.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 5 years' experience with automation systems
At least 2 years' experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager.
Strong customer and vendor interfacing experience, particularly with OEMs such as GM, Ford, Nissan, and Honda.
Proficient in managing budgets, timelines, metrics, deliverables, and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products.
Previous experience working for an integrator
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- PMP Certification is a plus.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
Bonuses that are tired to this position. 401K , health care and work from home wednesdays. There is PTO typically 2 weeks, but negotiable.

This is a fully onsite position in Wixom,MI.
