Upper Great Lakes is seeking a Front Office Patient Service Representative (PSR) to join our Lake Linden Clinic.
Welcomes patients and provides excellent customer service at check-in and check-out.
Registers and pre-registers patients, verifies insurance coverage, scans insurance cards, and ensures accurate and up-to-date patient and income data.
Collects co-pays, calculates patient responsibility, and meets clinic collection goals.
Schedules, confirms, and reschedules patient appointments; performs reminder and outreach calls.
Maintains and scans clinic documents; distributes incoming mail and faxes.
Acts as a backup for the call center and contributes to a smooth patient experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally across diverse populations.
Must demonstrate organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrates professionalism in all communications and team interactions.
Participates in team huddles and meetings to support continuous improvement.
Understands the importance of documentation, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
