Essential functions (job duties):
The WDET Membership Assistant is one of the first lines of contact for WDET members. They must perceive and conduct themselves as an ambassador of WDET and Wayne State University.
20 hours per week including evenings and weekends (1,000 hours per fiscal year)
The Part-time Membership Assistant duties:
Professional and timely response to member phone calls, emails, letters, and tracking interactions in membership database
Trouble-shooting and problem-solving member issues
Confidential membership database usage: information input and report retrieval
Assist Business Department with database account update entries
Support Membership Associate to solicit vendor quotes and complete university purchasing processes
Assist with Donor fulfillment shipment processing and inventory management
Learn WDET's E-Mail client and assist as needed with WDET email communications
Event and Fundraiser support, requires evening and weekend time commitments
Occasional Front Desk support
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 2 years' proven success in direct customer service in an office environment required
Working knowledge of a member database such as Allegiance or Raisers Edge preferred
Superior interpersonal skills and a positive attitude, with focus on customer satisfaction
Proficiency with general Data Entry and Microsoft Office and ability to use multiple applications simultaneously
Ability to manage assigned projects and deadlines with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to compose letters and emails to members
Able to build and maintain appropriate relationships with people at all levels of an organization, across a diverse range of cultural, generational, ethnic, racial, educational and social backgrounds
Ability to move up to 30-pound boxes
Must be detail oriented, organized and manage time efficiently
Proven ability to generate consistent, error-free correspondence
Able to be flexible in schedule and task completion and remain pleasant and professional throughout
