Position Summary
Provides front-line customer service support for the Employment, Compensation and Benefit areas of Human Resources. Assists employees in the completion of new hire paperwork. Answers the main phone line for Human Resources and assists applicants and hiring departments with the applicant tracking system. Coordinates newspaper advertising for all staff positions. Creates and maintains personnel files as needed and assist with FMLA paperwork as needed.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Three years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to three years.
Experience with Microsoft Word.
Customer service experience.
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to project a positive attitude.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results.
Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence.
Ability to perform essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with SAP.
Experience with Excel.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides front-line customer service support for the Human Resources areas of Employment, Compensation and Benefits.
Answers the main phone line for Human Resources.
Assists employees in the completion of new hire paperwork.
Creates and maintains personnel files.
Assists applicants and hiring departments with the applicant tracking system.
Coordinates newspaper advertising for all staff positions.
Acts as liaison with outside advertising agency (JobElephant).
Enters advertising resources and cost for all postings in the applicant tracking system (PeopleAdmin).
Generates reports and applicant logs from PeopleAdmin as required for union notification.
Generates a vacancy report from SAP on a weekly basis, updates the report as needed.
Audits I-9 documents that are completed by others.
Responsible for the record retention of criminal history checks, I-9 documents and personnel files.
Assists with the paperwork process related to Family Medical Leaves (FMLA) and ADA requests, as needed.
Gathers, maintains and prepares information for new hire packets.
Opens and distributes mail for Human Resources.
Monitors the Employment and Compensation Services e-mail account.
Assists with scanning information related to maintaining personnel files.
Orders Office Supplies for Human Resources.
Assists in updating SAP as needed, such as entering address changes.
Coordinates information related to FOIA requests, as needed.
Completes worker’s compensation incident reports, as needed.
Assists the Professional Development area with coordinating training materials and other duties, as needed.
Serves as backup Building Coordinator.
Handles Lost and Found for Rowe Hall.
