Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
Reporting to the Risk Control business leader, this role involves attracting, recruiting, retaining, and developing top talent in collaboration with the Field Director under broad oversight. The position requires developing and executing national and regional business plans to support Business Insurance and Risk Control strategies. The individual will manage a team of Risk Control Field Directors across multiple states and offices, supporting various business segments, including Construction, Energy and Inland / Ocean Marine. The role is responsible for understanding relevant data and analytics to formulate strategies that influence current business trends within the supported territories and/or businesses.
What Will You Do?
Understand regional gaps, both technical and leadership, and implement plans to address them.
Ensure that Risk Control resources are sufficient to meet business needs.
Responsible for identifying career paths in both technical and leadership roles, in collaboration with Field Directors.
Interact with Field Directors, Home Office Risk Control, and business partner leadership to develop and/or support region-specific Risk Control strategies.
Establish time-bound expectations for improvement and act swiftly and decisively if improvements are not demonstrated and sustained.
Collaborate with Business Partners to develop specific strategies for leveraging Risk Control resources to acquire and retain business and improve overall profitability of their book of business.
Work with the Regional President and Business Unit Regional Vice President to translate business plans into Risk Control-relevant actions.
Take an active role in the leadership of the division.
Identify, lead, and/or participate in division-wide projects.
Represent the company with government and regulatory agencies, insurance associations, and professional associations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
Experience in leading large, diverse groups, including leading other leaders.
Demonstrated successful management experience leading both on-site and remote employees.
Ability to establish credibility quickly is preferred.
Demonstrated technical aptitude is preferred.
Superior communication skills are preferred.
Recognized related professional designations (such as ASP, CSP, ARM, CPCU, etc.).
Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
What is a Must Have?
Ten years of experience in safety, risk control/management, or a related field, such as occupational/environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military experience.
Four years of leadership experience.
Valid driver's license.
Must have or be able to attain appropriate certification to meet state-specific requirements, where applicable.
