Material Handler (Aftermarket- Order Detailer)
Primary Function
Working under limited supervision: Receives, inspects, and documents all conditions as it pertains to customer assets using the company designated computer systems such as MSS, R-Card On-Line, Work Flow and IBM Notes. Issues and maintains travelers and associated orders to facilitate the timely repair, rework, modification, update or overhaul of customer assets in accordance with customer and company requirements. Knowledgeable in MSS and able to issue parts to shippers, repair and overhaul jobs and stock parts to maintain inventory accuracy and quality traceability requirements.
Working Procedure
Maintains current status, on a daily basis, of all end items for programs, which they (Order Detailer) are responsible for via the applicable computer programs or systems as required.
Must be able to complete MSS computer transactions as they relate to Order Detailer responsibilities. (i.e., split parts from job for rework, reallocate splits back to the job as applicable, secure rotables as required, core units, etc.)
Coordinates assigned program products with the assembly area within Aftermarket.
Process the Repair Work Order (RWO) through the various departmental personnel including customer representatives, where appropriate.
Submit requisitions as required to the storeroom personnel in support of the assembly, test and/or final preparation activities.
Maintain close liaison with Aftermarket Supervision to facilitate coordination of activities required to support customer products and Turn-Around-Time (TAT) requirements.
Maintains and supplies input to other functional areas and divisions as required by internal policy or customer requirements.
Receives, verify part quantity and store parts in proper locations. All parts to be stored by Aftermarket as defined by MSS stocking requirements.
Pulls, counts, and bags/kits parts requisitioned to accomplish assembly after allocating material as required via MSS systems.
Must be able to read, understand, interpret, apply, and train others in the application of all internal and external documents as it applies to the repair and overhaul functions.
Maintains stock records to show issues, receipts, and balance on hand for all parts in the stockroom via utilization of inventory control system (MSS).
Transports customer assets to work areas as required.
Maintains stock record to show issues, receipts and balance on hand for all parts in the Aftermarket storeroom via utilization of the MSS system.
Must have a good knowledge of finished stores work or equivalent.
Participates in "Continuous Improvement" activities within the classification/department.
Helps train/instruct employees as required.
Must be able to apply simple mathematics.
Preferred- have a working knowledge of the MSS inventory control system.
Willing to complete all transactions associated with the support of afterhours AOG (Aircraft on Ground) activities.
Physical Requirements
Lifting/moving products & parts: Weights- Range from ounces to 68 lb. team lift - Average is 15 lbs.
Portion of day for various activities- walking 40%, standing 45%, sitting 15%.
