The Rear Wheel Drive Automatic Transmission (RWD AT) Application System Engineer will be a part of the Chief Engineering (CE) organization to drive priority into the Propulsion System organization to meet timing and requirements on product launches and serial life production. This includes managing QTWC (Quality Total Warranty Cost) priorities for RWD AT CE organization. This role coordinates with RWD AT teams so that they can create plans to meet their targets to reduce three months in service (3MIS) claims and twelve months in service (12MIS) warranty cost.
In order to track vehicle applications and timing, this role will manage the development of the Applications Matrix including all interface requirements for given programs including all variants and various vehicle platforms. They will coordinate packaging studies with each vehicle application to ensure all clearance requirements are met. The candidate will lead advanced vehicle adaptation designs studies and freezes, will own the Transmission Technical Specification (TTS) and communicate application specific requirements to the entire organization and will include coordination of Center of Expertise (COE) assessments of bulletins and AT engineering responses for required funding and resources.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
5 years of relevant experience
Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in automotive design, releasing, development, validation, calibration, manufacturing, program management, etc
Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outllook, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Engineering and/or Business Administration
Engineering experience in the automotive industry
