We are seeking an exceptional Calibration Engineer to join our Electrified Powertrain team. In this pivotal role, you'll provide critical technical expertise in one of three specialized areas:
Hybrid start/stop systems
Strategic state optimization of propulsion system modes
Tactical driver interpretation and torque optimization
As a key contributor to our upcoming vehicle launch featuring cutting-edge technology, you'll:
Deliver high-quality calibration values that meet precise vehicle performance objectives
Develop comprehensive calibration guides and validation plans
Manage and report out calibration deliverables throughout the vehicle development timeline
Create and maintain essential technical documentation

Responsibilities
As an Electrified Powertrain Feature Team Calibration Engineer, you will be assigned a vehicle program(s) to support, and you will be assigned a feature area to become the technical calibration expert and owner of documentation. Key responsibilities will include:
Calibrate vehicle functionality to meet all customer facing objectives and internal metrics from program inception to program launch
Report out feature area status of the assigned vehicles performance to internal metrics at each of the quality gates
Document latest calibration guidance and methodologies to preserve calibration knowledge within the organization
Define and expand calibration deliverables at each stage of the quality gate process in your specific feature area
Creation of calibration tools for analysis or virtual calibration. Tools will likely be Matlab/Simulink or Python based.
Provide root cause analysis of various issues across the Stellantis vehicle lineup
Participate in global Center of Excellence (COE) meetings to build up technical expertise across the calibration community
Work cross-functionally with other calibration subsystems and other modules to review issues and implement robust solutions, adhering to best practices and established calibration methodologies.
Demonstrate careful attention to detail and excellent organizational skills in all aspects of work.
Work Location
This position can be based out of Auburn Hills or Chelsea, Michigan, depending on the candidate's preference.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
Excellent English communication skills
Proficiency in data analysis and root cause identification using functional models
Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective documentation skills to preserve calibration knowledge
Strong understanding of vehicle systems, controls, and software development processes
Expertise in calibration tool suites (ETAS/INCA, MATLAB, Simulink, Canalyzer)
Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in powertrain calibration, particularly with electrified vehicle systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Physics first principles mentality to problem solving
Familiarity with Stellantis internal processes & standards
Experience with Matlab scripting and other useful data processing languages/tool sets (e.g., Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, PowerApps, Power BI)
"AI Native" approach to work-stream efficiency
Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in powertrain calibration, particularly with electrified vehicle systems
