Job Details

Responsible for Vehicle Operation (VO) control support for the body shop at launch; provide production support and control improvements as required for old model production to identify production issues and troubleshoot problems both in design phases on production floor; provide support and consultation for programming of the PLCs regarding the automation processes of the body shop area of the plant; create new templates to increase effectiveness or cost reductions by improving cycle time; report on downtimes of the machinery and operator related breakdowns, and assess ways and methods to reduce time repairing or reduce the number of incidents per shift; utilize VBA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, C++, Ladder programming, Allen Bradley, GuardLogics, Siemens PLCs, JavaScript, and Fanuc Robots to integrate robotic applications to the production process or work to fix any existing problems on production or design; read technical prints or documents for the systems or processes for equipment or lines in question, including electrical and mechanical prints as well as fault reports, to determine bottlenecks and throughput of the production line; assist with leadership meetings to convey changes, improvements or problems on the production lines or during the design phases; and create concise and clear reports to upper leadership as well lead a team to implement leadership decisions on the floor.

Location: Troy, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;

Salary: $80,000 per year;

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Automation Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
