Job Title: Quality Technician
Job Description
The Quality Technician is responsible for inspecting in-process and completed products using predetermined methods, setups, and specifications. The role involves using various measuring devices and testing equipment to accept, reject, or rework defective units. You will work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, and customer specifications. Monitoring and verifying quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures is essential, along with performing line clearances to ensure all materials from previous lots are removed.
Responsibilities
Inspect visually and check for structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds in electronic units, subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, and mechanical units.
Use various measuring devices and testing equipment for quality inspection.
Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
Work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, or inspection instructions and checklists.
Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
Perform line clearances after each lot.
Provide support in manufacturing operations and/or distribution centers including assembly, machinery processing, packaging, and/or distribution of company products.
Set up and operate automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment.
Report malfunctions or abnormalities in machines with higher levels, recommending and/or making adjustments to methods and processes.
Communicate with internal and external contacts to obtain and provide information on matters of moderate importance.
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
Essential Skills
Broad knowledge of operational systems and practices.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in quality control or a related field.
Vocational or technical education or certification may be required.
Quality control, inspection, and assurance.
Ability to read and understand specifications and blueprints.
Attention to detail and communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in quality inspection, visual inspection, and using micrometers.
Experience with quality checks and blueprint reading.

Work Environment
Work under limited supervision with general instructions on new activities. Engage in non-routine clerical tasks and support special projects or assignments in the distribution center. You will be communicating with internal and external contacts as needed, providing information on matters of moderate importance. The role may involve shipping, receiving, inventory control, or storage of products in distribution centers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
