Role Description
This is a full-time position for a Bindery and Finishing Operator. As a Bindery and Finishing Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various bindery equipment to produce high-quality finished printed materials. This is a crucial role in our printing operation, as you would be responsible for tasks such as cutting jobs, binding books, folding brochures, padding notebooks, and more.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Set up, operate, and maintain bindery equipment (such as cutters, folders, laminators, drills, and stitchers)
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with binding equipment
- Use basic math skills (add, subtract, decimals, fractions)
- Maintain warehouse inventory
- Prepare, assemble and bind printed material using various methods
- Follow instructions while paying close attention to detail
- Inspect finished products for quality and consistency
- Prepare finished jobs for shipping
- Complete local deliveries and shipping jobs via shipping app
Qualifications and Skills
Experience is preferred but not necessary. We are willing to train the right person.
Preferred
- Experience operating and maintaining bindery equipment
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Ability to take notes/learn quickly
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work quickly and accurately on repetitive tasks
Required
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and maneuver heavy materials while on a ladder
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Full time availability: Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Basic math skills and legible handwriting
- Capacity to operate a Windows computer
