THE POSITION
Test Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc., Auburn Hills, MI:
Support the test team during the system validation phase. Review System and Software requirements from a test point of view. Create System and software test specifications to cover all software or system requirements and support Requirements Engineers for refinement of specifications. Design, develop, and implement cost effective test methods and best practices. Design test setups and test cases in order to test the project requirements. Monitor and report requirements, testing and implementation traceability. Create and perform automation and manual tests. Develop Test Configuration Management, processes, and quality compliance. Organize and maintain test activities. Provide support to application teams for identification of root cause for issues and corrective solutions. Create, review and update test specifications and setups in order to ensure complete coverage of requirements.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field and 2 years of work experience in Automotive Test Engineering.
Must have 2 years of experience in each of the following:
- Designing test tools using C#/xmal for Hardware control;
- Communication protocols, including CAN, Serial, I2C, and SPI;
- Simulation tools CANalyzer and CANoe;
- Embedded software in C applied in microcontroller 8/16/32 bits for Hardware control;
- Version and Change Control tools, including Jazz, MKS, Jira, or GitHub;
- Requirements using Doors;
- Creating scripts using Python and VBA;
- Analyzing date using Excel or VBA;
- Creating, updating and documenting the following: black, white, gray, regression, unit, and integration test cases; and
- Working closely with other domains (i.e. Hardware, Systems) to ensure robust, efficient, and production intent solutions.
