The role of Project Manager involves overseeing project scheduling, estimating, document control, and management of self-perform teams and subcontractors within the Industrial and Heavy Commercial Markets. This position may handle one large project or several small to medium-sized projects concurrently. Project delivery methods may include Self-Perform, General Contracting, or Construction Management with project sizes ranging from $1,000,000 to $100,000,000 USD, and may include travel. The Project Manager will work within the Interiors Department, leveraging an exceptionally skilled interior trades group specializing in general carpentry and interior finishes. The ability to self-perform a wide variety of carpentry and interior work ensures control over quality, schedule, and safety, leading to significant cost and time savings for customers. The work location varies from office-based to part-time office/job site to full-time job site.
Responsibilities
Manage project scheduling, estimating, and document control.
Oversee self-perform teams and subcontractors.
Deliver projects using methods such as Self-Perform, General Contracting, or Construction Management.
Work within the Interiors Department to leverage skilled trades in carpentry and interior finishes.
Ensure quality, schedule, and safety control on projects.
Provide cost and time savings to customers.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
8-12 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with a General Contracting/Construction Management organization.
Knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, technology, equipment, methods, accounting principles, and engineering techniques.
Excellent communication, planning, organizational, and supervisory skills.
Experience in Design/Build, General Contractor, Construction Management project delivery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Automotive project experience is preferred.
Maintenance contract experience is preferred.
Ability to estimate and schedule is preferred.
Experience with self-performing general contractor is preferred.
Knowledge of Sage 300, ProCore, Prolog, and/or Contract Manager is preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced, busy, and occasionally noisy, involving managing multiple projects simultaneously. It may require outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions and occasional work in high or precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles, or handling toxic chemicals. There is a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations. Frequent interruptions to address team members' needs and vendor requests are common. Physical demands include frequent travel by motor vehicle and extended hours on construction sites, requiring physical stamina for navigating the premises. Strict adherence to safety protocols and the ability to follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment guidelines, and company policies, is essential.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
