Job Title: Emissions Test Support Technician
Job DescriptionTesting Division is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Chassis Dyno Technician to support vehicle emissions and performance testing. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating chassis dynamometers and emissions analyzers, executing EPA-regulated drive cycles, and ensuring accurate data collection in a controlled testing environment.
Responsibilities
Set up test vehicles on chassis dynamometers using standard operating procedures.
Operate chassis dyno and emissions analyzers based on engineering test requests.
Drive test vehicles on dyno using prescribed test traces or under engineering direction.
Handle and measure particulate filters in clean environments.
Support daily test scheduling and ensure timely execution of test plans.
Maintain test cell cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness.
Participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives.
Work in environmental test chambers with extreme temperatures (-35°C to 50°C).
Essential Skills
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with emissions testing.
Experience with EPA drive cycles (FTP-75, US06, HFET).
Ability to set up emission analyzers and operate chassis dynamometer.
High school diploma required; Associate degree or trade school certification preferred.
Strong technical aptitude to follow detailed procedures and operate complex testing equipment.
Strong commitment to safety protocols and clean work environments.
Clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in general automotive repair and diagnostics.
ASE Certifications (Automotive Service Excellence).
Familiarity with vehicle data acquisition systems and emissions regulations.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or testing issues independently.
Work Environment
The position requires working in environmental test chambers with extreme temperatures ranging from -35°C to 50°C. Initially, training is conducted on the 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) for the first two weeks before transitioning to the 2nd shift (2:00 PM - 10 PM). Travel is minimal.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
