The Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (EACPHS) at Wayne State University (WSU) is searching for an experienced Assistant/Associate Professor (Clinical) in Pharmacy Practice with a practice site at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan in acute care/Internal Medicine.
The position is a 12-month, non-tenure track faculty position with a clinical practice focused on internal medicine. The Department of Pharmacy Practice includes 30 faculty members and a comprehensive network of outstanding adjunct faculty. The department has affiliations within multiple area health systems and community pharmacy organizations in Southeastern Michigan, an area recognized nationally for progressive pharmacy practice. The department's vision is to be a nationally recognized leader for integrating education and research within our diverse urban community and regional health care environments. Its mission is to prepare highly qualified pharmacists, researchers, and leaders for success to improve health. Henry Ford Hospital is the flagship medical center of Henry Ford Health, a vertically integrated academic health system that includes 13 acute care hospitals, over 200 ambulatory clinics, and an employed medical group. Henry Ford Hospital is an 877-bed academic medical center with Level 1 Trauma center designation. The Henry Ford Hospital Department of Pharmacy Services is nationally recognized for advanced clinical pharmacy practice and multi-disciplinary collaboration with other healthcare providers. The pharmacy training programs at Henry Ford Hospital include 9 PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency programs, one fellowship program, and over 20 pharmacy resident/fellow trainees. The hospital also serves as a longitudinal training site for 4th year EACPHS PharmD students. They will join six other co-funded EACPHS faculty members within Henry Ford Health, including three who practice at Henry Ford Hospital.
Essential Functions (Job Duties)
The Assistant/Associate Professor (Clinical) will:
· Teach and coordinate courses and educational interactions in the PharmD curriculum commensurate with education, training and expertise.
· Establish an acute care clinical practice at Henry Ford Hospital that meets the needs of the institution and is a setting for learners at the student, PGY-1, and PGY-2 levels. This can include specialty internal medicine floors with emphasis on transitions of care.
· Develop collaborative scholarship and research in areas of clinical practice and teaching that lead to peer-reviewed publication.
· Precept and mentor students and residents in clinical practice and research.
· Develop and maintain course syllabi and educational materials ensuring compliance with educational objectives of the program and ACPE standards.
· Be assigned other teaching responsibilities or coordination within the program/department/college as necessary pertinent to demands of PharmD curriculum.
· Provide academic advisement to students.
· Interview and assist in assessment and selection of program applicants.
· Participate in program committees at the health system, Program, Department, and College levels commensurate with level of expertise and rank.
· Attends and participates in Program, Department and College meetings on a regular basis.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates must meet the following qualifications:
· Possess the PharmD degree and have completed post-graduate pharmacy residency and/or fellowship training or possess the equivalent experience.
· Licensure in the State of Michigan (or eligible for licensure).
· Have an established scholarship record.
· Demonstrate experience in teaching PharmD students within a variety of settings (i.e., didactive, experiential).
Preferred Qualifications:
· Board certification.
· 5+ years of teaching and practice experience.
· Experience designing didactic learning materials.
