The Opportunity
This role is on a hybrid schedule , in office a few days each week .
The Business Continuity Manager is a member of the Crisis Management & Business Continuity (CMBC) team within the Business Disruption Risk function at Ally and is responsible for overseeing and executing BC policies and procedures, performing program oversight and reporting routines related to BC, and supporting review and challenge of disaster recovery planning and testing. This role will support and participate in incident response, as needed.
The Work Itself
- Lead the implementation of business continuity operations and program elements and support the CMBC Director in the development and execution of the strategic direction for the BC program.
- Oversee the design and maintenance of business continuity plans across all business areas.
- Develop a consistent process for evaluating the effectiveness of plans and identifying areas for improvement.
- Establish a professional presence as a representative for the BC program and of the Business Disruption Risk organization where success requires influencing and building collaborative working relationships with variety of stakeholders at all levels throughout the organization, along with collaborating in a team environment.
- Provide regular reporting to senior management regarding business continuity initiatives, and support required regulatory reporting related to BC.
- Develop and maintain policies, standards, processes, and systems/tools to support the BC Program, in alignment with Ally Policy and FFIEC standards, and stay well-informed of developments in business continuity standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Lead the execution of oversight routines for BC projects and initiatives.
- Oversee effective challenge to annual updates of DR Plans and performance of DR tests, and the management of DR related data in Fusion (BCDR tool) to maintain completeness and accuracy.
- Support Crisis Management partners during response to certain incidents or crises.
- Support Ally's broader resilience efforts in partnership with other programs within Business Disruption Risk, the broader Risk Management program, and across the enterprise.
The Skills You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or in a risk management discipline, preferably in a program leadership role and in the financial services industry.
- Bachelor's degree preferred (though additional applicable experience or certifications in this field will be considered).
- Knowledge of common risk management framework and methodology components (e.g., governance, reporting, review and challenge, risk control self-assessments, testing and monitoring, issue management).
- Ability to develop a consultative and collaborative approach to partnering with internal stakeholders.
- Ability to think critically, exercise sound judgment, and apply experience to independently solve problems.
- Excellent data management and analysis skills, and the ability to effectively synthesize and report information and insights across the organization, including with executive leadership.
- Strong, professional communication skills with proven ability to effectively create and deliver information to senior leadership and other stakeholders within various areas of the business.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft products (e.g., Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Power BI)
- Experience with GRC applications (e.g., Archer, Fusion) preferred.
- Business continuity certification preferred.
- General understanding of enterprise technology (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, cloud, cybersecurity, data backup/replication, change management, etc.) and disaster recovery concepts preferred.

Base Pay Range:
An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
