We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Funeral Home Groundskeeper to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the appearance, safety, and respectful atmosphere of funeral home grounds. The ideal candidate will have experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, and a strong sense of responsibility and compassion for the sensitive nature of the work environment. As a Funeral Hoe Groundskeeper, you will be responsible for the upkeep of, pathways, lawns, and surrounding areas. This includes mowing grass, trimming trees and shrubs,, planting flowers, removing debris, and ensuring that all areas are clean and sell-maintained. You will also assist with the preparation of setting up chairs for services. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. You must be respectful and professional at all times, especially when interacting with grieving families and visitors. The role may also involve operating and maintaining landscaping equipment, performing minor repairs. Responsibilities
- Maintain funeral home grounds including lawns, trees, and flower beds
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools
- Ensure pathways and public areas are clean and safe
- Assist with setup for funeral services (tents, chairs, etc.)
- Remove trash, debris, and fall branches regularly
- Perform minor repairs to fences, benches, and signage
- Monitor and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs
- Follow funeral home regulations and safety procedures
- Provide respectful assistance to visitors when needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance
- Ability to operate lawn mowers, trimmers, and other equipment
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors
- Strong attention to detail and work ethic
- Respectful and compassionate demeanor
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
