Apply U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), or Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Auditing Standards. Conduct external audits, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants. Research technical accounting issues. Understand and address SEC financial reporting issues. Review audit work papers. Test the design and effectiveness of internal financial controls for assigned clients. Assist with account functions, including billing, fee analysis, and new service development. Identify performance improvement opportunities for assigned clients. Demonstrate in-depth accounting knowledge. Pursue business development opportunities. Establish and maintain client relationships and professional networks. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, and 2 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.
Must have an active Michigan CPA license.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following: U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Standards for Financial Reporting (IFRS); U.S. Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) or International Standards on Auditing (ISA); Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Auditing Standards; SEC financial reporting issues, including SEC filings for public engagements; and Testing internal accounting procedures and communicating findings to clients.
Travel to various locations throughout the U.S. required up to 5%.
