Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Lead Electrical & Controls Engineer to drive the development and implementation of electrical and control systems for our advanced material handling solutions. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll set engineering standards, lead cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers—while staying deeply involved in technical execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical system design including schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs
- Develop and implement PLC programs (GuardLogix, Studio 5000) with modular, reusable code
- Program HMI systems using FactoryTalk View and Ignition
- Specify and integrate motors, drives, sensors, and safety components
- Guide system architecture and interface strategies with mechanical and project teams
- Lead FATs, SATs, and customer technical reviews
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians
- Drive engineering efficiency and quality standards
- Collaborate directly with customers throughout the project lifecycle
- Support commissioning and troubleshooting (occasional travel <20%)
Required Skills
- Advanced PLC and HMI programming (Allen-Bradley, FactoryTalk, Ignition)
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and cross-functional coordination skills
- Excellent problem-solving and hands-on execution abilities
- Clear, confident communication and project ownership
Required Knowledge
- Control panel design and system integration (UL508A familiarity a plus)
- 480VAC 3-phase, 120VAC, and 24VDC control circuits
- Industrial networking (EtherNet/IP, safety protocols)
- Safety standards (NFPA 70 & 79, ANSI B11, TÜV certification preferred)
- Robotics, SCADA, or motion control technologies
- Full-system design including safety device specification
Ability to Implement
- Lead the full lifecycle of control system development
- Architect scalable, reliable automation solutions
- Conduct technical reviews and acceptance testing
- Mentor team members and elevate engineering practices
- Engage with customers to ensure successful project delivery
