Job Description
POSITION DUTIES -Review and evaluate applications for assembled/reconstructed/ replacement vehicle identification numbers and/or titles for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable statutes and procedures of the department. Receive and process incoming consumer complaints and inspection request referrals pertaining to vehicle dealers, repair facilities and mechanics. Conduct routine in-house complaint investigations against these licensed entities through telephone interviews and evaluation of documentary evidence. Conduct investigations of alleged unlicensed dealers and issue administrative assessments. Issue notices of noncompliance to licensees for violations of the Michigan Vehicle Code, Motor Vehicle Service & Repair Act, administrative rules, and the Garage Keepers Lien Act. Complete written investigative reports for permanent licensee records. Handle telephone inquiries regarding routine technical issues, rules, regulations and department processes. Conduct general compliance record reviews of licensed class "H" foreign salvage vehicle dealers. Perform miscellaneous administrative duties to support the division and office as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Education typically acquired through completion of high school.
Experience
Departmental Technician 7
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 7-level in state service.
Depart mental Technician 8
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 8-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience as a technician or paraprofessional equivalent to the entry level in state service.
Departmental Technician E9
One year of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
One year of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service.
OR
Two years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate level in state service.
Alternate Education and Experience
Departmental Technician 7
Completion of two years of college (60 semester or 90 term credits) may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Departmental Technician 8
Possession of a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for the experience requirement.
Departmental Technician E9
Possession of a Bachelor's degree and one year of job-related experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
