The Housekeeper role is a hands-on, working position responsible for providing indoor facilities cleaning and general support in alignment with the mission of the department. This individual plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction by completing the tasks assigned in the work order system, while contributing positively to a team-oriented environment or working solo. JOB TITLE: First Shift Housekeeper
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Hourly
REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Manager
LOCATION: Grand Rapids, Michigan
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleaning in order to maintain a level of campus cleanliness equal to an APPA Custodial Service Level 2.
- Working with students and staff to ensure satisfactory cleaning.
- Participate in the Facilities emergency on-call rotation.
- Available to work high priority events such as Commencement, Fall Arrival Day and the summer campus-wide turnover.
- Meets with the Housekeeping Manager to coordinate daily activities, events and schedules for the housekeeping staff.
- Observes and inspects work while in progress, ensuring all work has been completed.
- Uses power equipment, vehicles and cleaning machines, maintenance tools etc. to accomplish work assigned.
- Work weekends when necessary to help cover school events.
- Consistently looks for ways to improve cleaning procedures.
- Consistently strives to improve customer service and build relationships with other departments.
- All Cornerstone University employees will regularly interact with students in a variety of projects, activities, and settings. As such all employees are expected to serve as Christian leaders and mentors by effectively living a gospel-centered lifestyle, ministering and discipling through a biblical worldview.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Housekeeping experience in a collegiate or hospitality setting is a plus.
- Working knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the housekeeping function.
- Working knowledge of MIOSHA and other safety procedures.
- Ability to use tools, machines, equipment, and the materials for housekeeping.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work responsibilities.
- Ability to read and interpret cleaning products specifications.
- Ability to promote and work in a team environment or on their own without constant supervision.
PAY RATE: $19.23 per hour
