Under general supervision, performs magnetic resonance imaging studies using a magnetic resonance imaging device, which includes preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, and performing computer processing and displaying images. Assists in developing protocol for patient studies. Performs quality control procedures on equipment.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
Must maintain the required hours of continued education.
Healthcare Provider certification required. (BCLS).
Two (2) years of experience in Radiography is recommended but not mandatory.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Must be registered with the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
OR must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
OR Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) with the advanced ARRT registry in MRI
OR registry eligible (If registry eligible, registry must be obtained within 12 months of date of hire. Failure to obtain registry within the designated time-frame will result in termination of the Magnetic Resonance Technologist position).
