Position Overview:
Holbrook Auto Parts is currently seeking a dependable and motivated Yard Specialist / General Laborer to join our team at our Highland Park location. This role is essential to our daily operations and involves a range of tasks related to the handling, preparation, and organization of automotive parts. The ideal candidate will thrive in a physically demanding outdoor environment and contribute to maintaining an efficient, safe, and organized yard.
Key Responsibilities:

Inspect, pull, and prepare automotive parts for delivery.

Organize and stage parts for dispatch and inventory control.

Operate equipment including loaders, bobcats, and forklifts safely and efficiently.

Clean and maintain yard areas according to sanitation standards.

Load sold drivetrains into customer vehicles.

Sort and dispose of scrap materials in designated containers.

Perform basic mechanical tasks such as removing wires, cutting hoses, capping and plugging, draining fluids, pressure washing, and drying parts.

Open and secure yard gates and bays at the beginning and end of each shift.

Use basic computer systems to support inventory management.

Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to maintain smooth operations.
Required Qualifications:

Previous experience in the automotive industry strongly preferred.

Proficiency operating loaders, bobcats, and forklifts (certification a plus).

Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Familiarity with basic tools and mechanical processes.

Basic computer literacy for inventory tasks.

Reliable, punctual, and committed to a strong work ethic.

Schedule:
- Monday to Friday – 8-hour shifts
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Highland Park, MI: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:
- Auto Parts: 1 year (Required)
- Automotive Mechanics: 1 year (Required)
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
