Quality Engineer (Detroit, MI). Responsibilities include: Testing, evaluating, analyzing, and monitoring manufacturing quality, and overall effectiveness of processes throughout the operation and proposing methods to improve quality issues. Proposing Corrective Actions/ problem solving when applicable and documenting them in reports. Analyzing quality training procedures. Maintaining a Quality Management System to include documentation, training, and auditing on company quality procedures. Conducting LPAs (Layered Process Audits). Conducting Root-Cause Analysis of quality issues on all production lines and preparing the corresponding reports. Maintaining IATF (International Automotive Task Force) compliance records. Maintaining Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, PFMEA and other required QMS documents. Analyzing and submitting Cost Recovery Data. Preparing 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone diagrams, control charts. Ensuring a high level of internal and external customer service. Maintaining regular external communication with customers regarding any quality issues and corrective actions. Maintaining constant internal communication with all levels of the team to communicate any quality issues. Correcting customer issues relating to quality. Submitting regular FTQ (First Time Quality) contact with customers, including Pareto charts on overall quality issues. Creating, evaluating, and improving processes for increasing safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. Coordinating objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers at the facility to maximize product reliability and minimize costs. Participating in meetings to discuss KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and opportunities for quality improvement. Ensuring that all work is conducted according to control plan standards and all work is thoroughly documented.
