Job Description
TheCenter for Educational Performance and Information(CEPI)is housed within State Budget Office and is responsible for coordinating the management, collection, and reporting of all education data, including the electronic exchange of student records between preschool, K-12, and postsecondary education.
CEPI is recruiting to fill an Analytics Manager position in the PK-12 Data Unit in the Office of Analytics and Reporting responsibilities of the unit include analyzing data extracts produced from CEPI and external systems; Evaluating the level of data reliability and accuracy; Loading data into the Michigan Statewide Longitudinal Data System (MSLDS; Designing and delivering content that meets recurring and ad hoc data needs; Advising stakeholders on appropriate data use; and Making recommendations to improve the validity and accuracy of data across the full cycle. This position directs and oversees the work of other professional staff in this area, organizing and reviewing work assignments, coordinating activities, and resolving work-related issues, as well as working closely with other Office of Analytics and Reporting (OAR) managers and staff in other CEPI work units to promote a positive team environment. As the Analytics Manager your primary responsibilities include:
Serve as a first-line manager for analytics methods being applied against Michigan educational data collected and utilized in CEPI's data systems. Directing and supervising the work of unit analysts including the planning/scheduling/tracking of assignments in alignment with other CEPI units.
The position maintains a staff of trained analysts by coordinating the hiring, training and evaluation of new resources. Responsible for providing direction and guidance to resources that align with CEPI's goals for timely, accurate information published through various CEPI systems.
Oversee the creation of analytics processes that are designed, documented, implemented and maintained. This includes performance monitoring, measurement and feedback functions to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data with other CEPI units. Communicate with CEPI teams to ensure that quality standards are met during transition of data between teams.
Serve as a champion for team projects within the unit involving critical thinking while serving as a positive role model for the team and organization.

JOB SPECIFICATION
The CEPI office is in Lansing, Michigan, however a hybrid work option (combination of remote/in-office) is currently offered which requires one day working on-site at the official workstation with the potential of up to four days remote work per week.
Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. Work must be performed in the state of Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed.
This position is being filled as limited term.
Limited Term is an appointment which has an expiration date. For this position, the Limited Term assignment will begin on the date of hire and expire two years from the date of hire. Limited-Term employees are encouraged and supported in seeking permanent employment within SBO/the State of Michigan prior to the appointments' end.
Required Education and Experience
Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
Experience
Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
