Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial records and transactions while performing essential accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, be a fast learner, a commitment to accuracy, and familiarity with accounting software.
Responsibilities:
Enter and process accounts payable invoices, including retrieving invoices from vendor websites and managing them through Sage Intacct.
Assist with weekly check runs and handle various payment types, including automated deductions and organizational payments.
Perform deposit entries and manage a high volume of transactions with precision.
Post electronic deposits and payments, including donations and state remittances, while interpreting remittance advice and reconciling discrepancies.
Record payments to accounts receivable and ensure they align with applicable records.
Utilize tools to assist with invoice coding and streamline routine processes.
Support minor journal entries and ensure compliance with organizational requirements.
Maintain accurate records and ensure timely posting of financial data.
Collaborate with team members to address reconciliation issues and discrepancies.
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and organizational policies.
Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Proficiency in Sage Accounting Software and familiarity with invoice processing tools.
Strong data entry skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Ability to reconcile accounts and address discrepancies effectively.
Competence in interpreting remittance advice and posting electronic deposits.
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel and its application in accounting tasks.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
