Paint Technician
Job Description
As a Paint Technician, you will be responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and changes of machine and equipment parameters, ensuring optimal functionality. You will maintain safety practices to prevent injuries and interface with various departments to ensure timely and cost-effective production.
Responsibilities
Assist in supervising and managing shift and training of operators and utilities.
Serve as acting lead in the absence of the supervisor.
Coordinate workflow throughout the department.
Adjust, perform preventative maintenance, and monitor machines to assure product control.
Coordinate and advise on product and production problems and changes with peers on other shifts.
Provide technical expertise and collaborate with other departments to ensure quality, productivity, and inspection procedures meet department and shift needs.
Participate in company programs such as communications and job training.
Comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the company.
Set, troubleshoot, and adjust all paint and secondary equipment.
Complete all applicable reports.
Complete process set-up verifications and changes to ensure that product meets design intent and customer specifications.
Ensure all daily process checks are completed accurately.
Use a variety of tools to perform machine set-up and troubleshooting, including mixing paint, pad-a-print, and hot stamp.
Conduct SPC charting of color and gloss reading from paint samples or molded parts.
Repair and rebuild paint guns and paint racks as needed.
Essential Skills
1+ years of mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools.
1+ years of experience in preventative maintenance, painting, assembly, production, mechanical maintenance, and equipment setup.
Experience in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, sprayer, paint prep, and paint booth operations.
Ability to perform machine setup and troubleshooting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical aptitude.
Experience setting up and operating manufacturing equipment such as tool room equipment, mills, lathes, presses, injection molding machines, and saws.
Ability to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
Physical capability of walking for the entire work shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
Ability to perform repeated bending and lifting during the shift.
Ability to wear steel-toe footwear.
Ability to work from heights with proper PPE.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.90/hr.
