Hiawatha Communications Inc. is seeking a dependable and experienced Human Resources Specialist / Assistant to the President/CEO. This dual-role position is pivotal in overseeing comprehensive human resources functions while providing high-level administrative support to the President/CEO. The role offers a dynamic rhythm, some days demand quick decision-making and immediate response to pressing matters, while others allow for strategic planning and preparation. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting both our employees and executive leadership with professionalism and care.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle HR administration, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compliance, employee relations, and policy development.
- Conduct wage and compensation analysis, support performance and salary administration.
- Serve as the main point of contact for HR questions and policy interpretation.
- Maintain HRIS and personnel records, coordinate safety reporting and workers' compensation.
- Provide high-level administrative support to the President/CEO, including calendar, travel, communication, and project coordination.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required, bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of HR and/or executive administrative experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong judgment, confidentiality, and interpersonal awareness.
