Midway Products Group, Inc. seeks Manufacturing Stamping Engineer Technician in Monroe, MI.
- Technical position that focuses on early product and manufacturing development. This position will provide design feedback while developing manufacturing process that meet profitability expectations.
- Provide product design methodologies to wide variety of stamped products to eliminate stamping manufacturing issues.
- Provide forming feasibility analysis using draw simulations and analyzing results vs. forming limit diagrams.
- Review part prints and identify material flow concerns with manufacturing. Redesign products to provide feedback to the customer.
- Develop stamping and assembly processes for tool quoting and development of new products.
- Perform analysis on welding feasibility and review results with customer engineering.
- Perform tool design reviews. Identify forces and tool thrusts and direct tool sources with proper tool steel application when necessary.
- Work with the estimating department to review and discuss part feasibility during quoting stage.
- Develop part quality inspection plan per Midway APQP guidelines.
- Attending meetings as required.
- Perform cost risk analysis of preliminary processes and report any risks to management.
- Develop preliminary program timing plans for successful launch of new products. Present these plans and any deviations to Midway management.
- Assist or lead dimensional development of products within manufacturing facilities when necessary.
- Performs other essential, related duties when required or requested by management and/or reporting Supervisor.
- Review simulation results as they relate to forming limit diagrams. Provide processing and design feedback based on these results.
- Utilize GD&T during part quality development.
- Provide estimating with automotive stampings
- Launching new OEM programs with focus on Ford and Toyota
- Provide stamping processing and feasibility
Salary range: $74,000-$113,000 per year
