Description
Proactively monitor the development of new and emerging US GAAP and SEC accounting guidance including assessing the current and future implications, developing implementation plans and training & communicating with the business units, countries and functional departments that are impacted
Participate in the identification, research, and communication of accounting implications in relation to new business transactions and ventures or other non-routine events with the impacted business units, countries or functional departments
Prepare technical accounting memos for complex or non-standard transactions, including lease accounting (ASC 842), revenue recognition (ASC 606), financing transactions, impairment reviews, and consolidation assessments
Support North America, International Operations and Corporate Controller staff and regional/business finance staff on accounting questions and technical accounting guidance interpretation
Support the continuous creation, review and update of global accounting policies, as well as working closely with GMF controllership function, in reviewing existing policies to determine those requiring update, clarification, expansion, or modification
Support training of appropriate personnel globally on accounting rules and policies
Undertake special projects and support Global Finance and Controllership initiatives, as needed
Lead and identify process improvement initiatives for the Technical Accounting team
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required
5-7 years public accounting or SEC public company experience required
Licenses
- CPA Certification Upon Hire required
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
