Kalamazoo College seeks Hornet Hub Advisor in Kalamazoo, MI. Duties: serve as coordinator for student outreach content: study abroad/study away. Work with Center for International Program (CIP) to counsel students regarding the process of study abroad/away, review transcripts to ensure students meet entrance requirements, write letters of recommendation; refer students to degree programs; provide students with information on topics such as degree programs, admission requirements, and financial aid opportunities to study abroad participants; conduct follow-up interviews with counselees; recruit, select, train, supervise activities for peer-counseling/tutoring programs known as Peer Adviser Program; compile and study occupational, educational, and economic information to assist counselees; plan and conduct orientation programs/conferences; address community groups, faculty, and staff to explain services of the center; oversight of content, arrange for speakers, and collaborate with the appropriate on-campus groups for special orientation sessions; design and distribute student evaluations and recommend changes; in collaboration with CIP staff, develop content for orientation sessions, workshops, simulations, and web-based materials; collaborate with teachers and admin in the development, evaluation, and revision of school programs; provide programming for United World College students on campus, organize advising and check-in sessions; award ceremony, and mentorship for UWC students; in collaboration with CIP staff and campus offices, design, organize and implement program sessions for F/J visa holders on campus; manage the study abroad programs or partner programs; assist in the advising, application, selection, orientation and reentry processes and programs for students participating in study abroad in the region. International travel required to partner universities and programs approx 1 wk in duration 1-2 times per yr. Annual domestic travel req for conferences and workshops, visits to local partner institutions in DC, NY, PA, and MN. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in educational and global leadership; higher education; academic counseling or related. Employer will accept foreign equivalent.
