Basic Qualifications to Apply
- Reside within 30-miles of Menominee Wastewater Treatment Facility.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, technical skills, mechanical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities. (e.g., automotive repair, HVAC, machining, welding, or similar trades).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, with availability for on-call emergency duties on a rotating 4-week
- Ability to perform physical work, both indoor and outdoor, in all weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- A valid driver’s license must be maintained at all times.
- Most positions will require a clean driving record and a criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Wastewater treatment experience or operator certification is strongly preferred.
- Water treatment experience or operator certification is strongly preferred.
This full-time position will cover facilities in and around the Marlette and Port Austin areas. Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following. Water and Wastewater system operations and maintenance such as sample collection, laboratory analysis, valve exercising, hydrant flushing, meter readings, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping, control of chemical, biological, and mechanical processes, mechanical troubleshooting, cleaning and maintaining process equipment, reading and interpreting charts, flow meters, and other gauges, maintaining records and reporting, general housekeeping, grounds maintenance, mowing, snow plowing, and other facility and ground maintenance.
The qualified candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently and interact effectively with co-workers, clients, and the public.
